1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Maze Studio (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Maze Studio is a browser-based maze design studio created by Tangent. It generates printable mazes across a range of cell geometries and boundary shapes, lays them out into print-ready puzzle books, designs matching covers, and exports the result as SVG or PNG. Maze generation runs in your browser and is free to use with an account. Optional AI features that generate artwork are paid for with credits.
3. User Accounts
To use Maze Studio, you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Maze Studio only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Share your account access or login credentials with anyone else.
- Use the studio to produce or distribute illegal, harmful, or offensive content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or rebrand the studio.
- Redistribute or resell the Maze Studio application itself, in whole or in part.
- Automate the AI features to generate artwork in bulk outside the studio interface.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations.
5. Intellectual Property
The Maze Studio application, its interface, its generators, and its bundled asset library remain the property of Tangent.
The mazes, books, and covers you create with it are yours. You own the output, you may sell it, and we claim no royalty and no licence over it. See the licensing page for the detail.
6. Payment Terms
Maze generation, styling, book layout, cover layout, and export are free to use with an account. There is no subscription.
AI credits are sold in one-off packs and are consumed when you generate AI artwork. Credits are non-transferable and expire twelve months after they are granted. Prices are shown in US dollars at the point of purchase.
Payments are processed by PayPal. We do not store your card details.
7. Refunds
Unused AI credit packs can be refunded within fourteen days of purchase. Once credits have been spent on generated artwork the underlying cost has already been incurred, so spent credits are not refundable. Email us and we will sort it out.
8. Privacy
We collect only what running the Service requires: your account details, your saved projects, your purchase history, and a log of AI requests made from your account. Prompts you send to the AI features are processed by third-party model providers through our gateway. We do not sell your data.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that any product you create will sell, or that any marketplace will accept it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tangent is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Tangent harmless from any claims arising out of the content you create with the Service, the way you distribute it, or your breach of these terms.
11. Modifications to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. Files you have already exported remain yours.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
